OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Island Arts fosters and promotes artistic creativity in the communities of the Lake Champlain Islands through our celebration of the arts, appreciation of our environment, and education.
WHAT WE DO:
We serve as the Grand Isle County Arts Council by supporting our local artists and artisans and by providing through Island Arts Academy a varied offering of courses, workshops and summer camps.
We bring in professional artistic events and performances to the community as well as placing exhibits in galleries.
We have a strong Youth Agenda through our annual funding of our ArtsBoost program for creative projects in art, environment and education in the five Grand Isle County schools.
We have an active scholarship program open to Grand Isle County residents of all ages.
HOW WE DO IT:
We are able to do this through the generosity of Friends of Island Arts, sponsors both private and corporate, Island Arts Volunteers and Foundation Grants. Gifts go directly to support the programs, scholarships and ArtsBoost in the schools.
WHO DOES IT AND FOR HOW LONG:
Island Arts is more than 25 years young. We are highly dedicated and committed volunteers who believe in the essential role of creativity in fostering the wholesome development of individuals, society and the world.
JOIN US:
We meet as a Board on the second Wednesday of each month in the Jury Room of the Court House in North Hero at 7 PM. Our meetings are open to all and you will be warmly welcome if you come. Join us as a Friend or Volunteer anytime.
