DESCRIPTION:The Dixie SixDate: Sunday August 11\, 2024\, 6:00 pm; This concert will be held inside the barn due to weather.\nBring your picnic for 5:30pm or just come for the music!\nLocation: Island Arts Center\, 1127 U.S. Rte. 2\, North Hero\nTickets: $15 online and at the door. Chairs are available. \nVermont’s Dixie Six is a band well-loved by Island Arts’ audiences\, and the group is well-known in the greater Burlington music scene. These six Vermont musicians focus on the sound and repertoire of Louis Armstrong’s All Stars of the 1950’s and 1960’s. The All Stars are famous for hits such as “Blueberry Hill\,” “Mack the Knife\,” and “Hello\, Dolly!” which blew “the Beatles off the top of pop charts at the height of Beatlemania.” This lively jazz still thrills\, appealing to all ages. Though retaining a traditional Dixie feel\, band’s updated rhythm section gives a new energy to New Orleans classics and mid-century standards. \n“Thanks to Island Arts for inviting us to play.
