Herranz is an experienced accompanist at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Paris\, France. His solo performance repertoire includes Bach\, Beethoven\, Chopin\, Mozart\, and Schubert among others. Hero\nTuition: $40 for all 3 classes or $15 for one class. Class fee includes 2 card kits per class. \nEnjoy Card Workshops taught by Pat Brennan. An Islander since 1969\, Pat has been giving card classes for five years. She will teach you basic card-making. \nAt your first class\, in addition to the class fee\, you will be required to buy a tool kit ($6) that includes a dispenser with double-sided tape\, glue dots\, sponge daubers\, and a little bling. \nPlease bring scissors if you have them. \nAt each class\, you will receive two card kits. Each will create a beautiful one-of-kind card with envelope\, a card likely to cost $5 or $6 in a store—if you could find one as nice! This is a great opportunity to have fun\, learn card-making\, and surprise friends and family with beautiful cards. \nEach class is unique and explores different techniques that widen your skills. BYOB but NO food allowed at tables. \nAndric Severance will play the heck out of that grand piano\, and sing songs to lift your spirits\, soothe your soul\, warm your heart\, and un-get your goat. You’ll hear some familiar jazz standards\, some obscure mystical jazz songs\, and of course many delightful surprises. \nCaleb Bronz brings his beautiful dynamic range on the drums\, and also a few tunes from the repertoire he used to play with the piano’s former owner\, Charles Pratt. Long a favorite of Island Arts’ audiences\, Citizens Concert Band offers a mix of toe-tapping music that includes traditional band favorites\, jazzy numbers\, and show and pop tunes cleverly adapted for its mix of musicians. A community band based in St. Albans\, its 35 to 40 musicians range from high school age through adults. \nThe Band has a long history. Founded in 1946 under the American Legion umbrella by soldiers returning home from World War II\, it has been going strong ever since. A single conductor\, Edric Loomis\, led the band from 1946 when he was 28 years old until his retirement after the 2001 season. The Counterpoint chamber ensemble headlines\, with the Green Mountain Chorus and the Chordination barbershop quartet. \nChordination \nCounterpoint features a variety of repertory from folksongs\, African-American spirituals\, sacred music of many traditions\, and concert works by classical composers of our own age and the past. Founded by legendary Vermont choral director and arranger Robert De Cormier in 2000\, the group is now directed by Nathanial G. Lew. Counterpoint has released 11 CDs. \nMen from Vermont and Quebec have sounded the chords of Barbershop harmony together as the Green Mountain Chorus for over 70 years. A unique form of a cappella singing\, Barbershop employs close four-part harmony.
