The Sylvia Barry Art Contest for Youth

                       Past Winners

For elementary school students (K-8) from Grand Isle County.

The Sylvia Barry Art Contest for Youth is designed to encourage young artists to develop their creative talent. This contest is made possible through the generosity of Allan (Skip) Barry, Jr. in loving honor of his late wife Sylvia.

Skip and Sylvia Barry had a long history of residing in Grand Isle County. A talented painter, Sylvia Barry frequently painted the Homer Knight Barn, now the home of the Island Arts Center. His interest in encouraging youth to engage in artistic endeavors is palpable!
