Flatfooting is a unique style of percussive dance that originated in the southern Appalachian hills and valleys. It is danced to lively Old Time Appalachian fiddle and banjo music.

THALIA presents ‘An Untold Story’ Female Composers Through the Centuries. Featuring an array of styles and arrangements, from solo piano, to violin and piano, and violin duets alone and with piano.

Calamellus Trio: An Ensemble of Winds

This ensemble of local musicians features music of the Baroque, tango, and opera, played on the oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. Experience the Calamellus Trio in an intimate chamber concert that brings rich, layered sound to our island community. This is the first appearance of Calamellus at the Island Arts Summer Arts Festival.

Sylvia Parker Plays the Classics

Sylvia Parker offers a solo piano recital of beloved shorter classical music (including some jazzy numbers) by composers that include Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bartok, George Gershwin, and Scott Joplin.

A Shared Talk

Join two friends as they share their heartfelt stories of addiction, recovery, and paths towards spiritual and personal transformation.

Enjoy an informal cabaret-style evening featuring a fine jazz quartet of clarinet, concert grand piano, double bass, and drums! Relax at your own table while the quartet performs all-time favorites from Gershwin, Ellington, Mercer, Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Bernstein, others.

Vermont Jazz Ensemble Celebrates 50 Years!

MetalWerx Tuba/Euphonium Quartet

MetalWerx is a unique quartet consisting of two euphoniums—played by Jenna Schultz of Winooski and Cynsy Van Santen of Bristol, and two tubas—played by Tim Foley of Burlington and Yutaka Kono of Shelburne. Hear an eclectic mix of fantasies, suites, marches, jazz, and pop music, and a few favorite classical transcriptions sure to please the ear of every music lover.
