A demo of color in painting is a visual presentation, often by an artist, showcasing
how colors are mixed, applied, and used to create various effects in a painting.
These demonstrations can cover a wide range of topics, from basic color theory and mixing techniques to more advanced concepts like color harmony and using color to create mood and atmosphere.
Jarvis Wilcox is an artist of his times – his themes characterize his view of our world.
His approach converts the commonplace into occasions for contemplation. Sensitive to Nature, Jarvis captures on canvas the imagery of county scenes many of which are near his East Hampton, CT home.
“So you have finally settled on a particular scene to paint, but how to bring it off? I suggest beginning with the basic color chords of your subjects and mixing seven or eight colors with  which you can make a complete, though unfinished statement. At this point you can decide how to compose the symphony and which color chords are going to predominate the symphony to carry your insights.
I will try to give you a structure you can use to arrive at the colors you need and how to mix them.  Obviously I believe color to be the heart and soul of the art of picture making. It is the sine qua non of this art. I will aim to give you a tool to aid in the appreciation of the dance of color” – Jarvis Wilcox
