Jorge Garcia Herranz classical piano concert at the North Hero Community Hall
Back by popular demand, pianist Jorge Garcia Herranz returns to the North Hero Community Hall on Saturday, August 5th with an 8 p.m. performance featuring selections from Beethoven and Schubert. Spanish born, Jorge began his musical studies in Madrid and eventually moved to Paris to continue his career and has set his music to some of the greatest silent movies ever produced such as Metropolis. Noeferatu, and Faust. Jorge summers in Vermont and Island Arts is pleased and honored that he is willing to perform in support their youth scholarship fund. Tickets are $25 dollars at the door and $20 when purchased in advance at islandarts.org. Youth under 12 are admitted free.
He regularly gives concerts in Paris, and has notably performed the complete series of Beethoven sonatas, Part 1 of Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier as well as his French Suites, Toccatas and Partitas, a series of Chopin’s greatest works, and sonatas for violin and piano by Beethoven and Mozart. In addition to these works, his repertoire also includes a large selection of chamber music and Spanish music from such composers as Albeniz, Falla, and Granados. Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the Alburgh Public Library, the Isle LaMotte Country Store, The Back Chamber in North Hero, and in South Hero at Hackett’s Orchard and The Green Frog.
